Rotographic.com

As a publisher with involvement in countries outside the UK, it was always felt that www.rotographic.com would be a more appropriate domain name, and possibly easier to remember internationally than the .co.uk version.

A few years ago when the .co.uk name was setup the .com version was considered, but it was already owned by a Frenchman, although it was not in use. I tried to establish contact with the French owner, as did a French speaking friend, but we never got any reply!

In July 2006 I noticed that rotographic.com was now registered to an address in St. Petersburg, Russia. The page that it pointed to mentioned that it had been registered for a client and that it might be for sale! I emailed the Russian registered owner and he offered to sell me the domain name. I cautiously did the deal and now the name belongs to Rotographic and points to the same webspace as rotographic.co.uk.

What will happen to rotographic.co.uk?

Nothing, it will remain active and will always point to the same webspace as the .com version. The .com version will be promoted in the books and elsewhere as the main website, but it will always point to the same content as the original .co.uk name.
